Presented here are a series of gentleman’s evening and dress vests. Only one has lapels and would be appropriate for full dress, evening wear at any time during the 19th century. The vests without lapels would have been worn for daytime use and would have been more common toward the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
In the samples shown, we have selected a variety of fabrics normally used for furniture covering. The weight is excellent for this type of garment and the weave and color selections are ideal for the eras represented.
